Welcome to Holy Family’s Ministry to our young members

Vision Statement: The Holy Family Parish Youth Group desires to prompt the youth to get involved in the parish community.

“Let the little children come to me, And do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14

Mission Statement: The Holy Family Parish Youth Group wishes to act as role models to the parish youth community. As a committee we wish to enrich young minds both spiritually and socially by encouraging the youth to get involved in our parish, through the use of a youth space, and activities such as worship, family mass and fundraising.

“Train a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22: 6 “Little children let us love, Neither in word nor with the tongue, but in deed and truth.” John 3:18

Our Goal: is to recruit youth as volunteers and to help guide them to become active members within our community. We would like to provide regular activities & volunteer opportunities for the youth to participate in. As well we hope to encourage them to give selflessly and actively live out the gospel by becoming involved further in the Parish Community through charity work.

Training and other workshops provided for becoming a Junior Liturgy teacher & Altar Servers

Office of Youth Ministry June 2018 UPDATE!!

Registration is open until the camp is at capacity or until the weekend before the camp week begins at a site. As you know, this summer our Archdiocesan Youth Office and Vocations Office are hosting Totus Tuus Catholic Summer Camp. The day camp is for students entering grades 1-6 and the evening program for students entering grades 7-12. We are offering the following weeks of camp:

July 8-13 Central Deanery – St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Kingston
July 15-20 Central Deanery – St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Kingston
July 22-27 Northern Deanery –St. John’s Parish, Perth
July 29-Aug 3 Western Deanery – St. Michael’s Parish, Belleville

Realistically, youth in host site parishes and nearby parishes will be the ones registering, but all are welcome. Please note: the 2 weeks in Kingston will be exactly the same so campers in the central deanery would just choose one week to register for. More information about the camp (including a promo video) can be found on our vocation website at:  Our camp promotional video:

We are hoping to have at least 60 campers at each camp week (Perth’s will be smaller). At some sites we are getting very close!

Financial donations would be greatly appreciated as well to make this ministry a success. If you have parishioners or businesses that you think might like to contribute financially, please let me know. As you are aware we were denied the Canada Summer Jobs Grant funding this year because of the attestation they insisted applicants check off. The CCCB is still fighting this ruling, but it doesn’t look good. Which means, we are down that financial support this summer. Camps across the country are feeling its impact.

We are hopeful that you will support us in this endeavour so that we can share faith and fun with young people in our Archdiocese this summer and beyond! Please pray for our young people and this initiative. Know that you are always in our prayers.

In Christ,
Nadia Gundert & Fr. Jan Kusyk
